Astrophysics and Planetary Sciences

The essential aim is to understand the genesis and the early evolution of the solar system. This involves identifying the most plausible cause that
triggered the formation of our solar system around 4.56 billion years ago. The group is also involved in developing numerical simulations of the
irradiation environment prevailing in the early solar system. In addition, numerical simulations are being developed for the planetary
differentiation of planetesimals (the building blocks of the planets) in the early solar system.

The other research interests include understanding the isotopic evolution of our galaxy and stellar nucleosynthesis.
