Title: LHC accelerator status and recent physics results

Speaker: Prof. Jim Freeman, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory (FNAL), USA

Abstract: The LHC proton-proton accelerator has recently completed a run in 2011 at CM energy 7 TeV. It is just starting a long run in 2012 at 8 TeV. I will discuss the status and plans for the LHC, and the CMS detector. I will review some recent physics results.
