Title: Solvable non-Hermitian PT-symmetric models in quantum mechanics

Abstract: Following the pioneering work by C.M. Bender and S. Boettcher in 1998 enforcing the idea of parity(P)-time(T) symmetry to conjecture that the whole class of non-Hermitian Hamiltonians respecting this symmetry may exhibit real or conjugate pairs of energy eigenvalues, research in this direction has been consistently active during the past decade. Against this background I will give an overview of PT-symmetric and the related pseudo-Hermitian quantum mechanics and show how the underlying principles work in practice. I will also discuss some test cases of solvability.
