Title: Quantum computing: Progress so far
Speaker: Prof. Prasanta Kumar Panigrahi, IISER Kolkata, Mohanpur, West Bengal, India
About the speaker: Dr. P.K. Panigrahi did his PhD in field theory from University of Rochester and post-doctoral stints at University of Montreal and University of Illinois at Chicago. He held teaching/research positions at School of Physics, UoH, Hyderabad and PRL, Ahmedabad. He is presently professor at Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Kolkata, Mohanpur. His research interests include quantum computation and quantum information, Bose-Einstein condensates, cold fermions, nonlinear dynamics, field theory and wavelet transform. He has guided large number of summer interns at BE/BS/MS level and is well known for his teaching.
