The undergraduate and postgraduate students with physics background can apply for the Symposium latest by 15 October 2017. The registration form is available on this page. Registration fee of Rs. 600 shall be collected from selected participants. Local hospitality and limited travel support (bus or sleeper class by train) shall be provided to students. Students can apply for oral presentaion or poster presentation or participation only.

For oral presentation: For oral presentation, student has to submit a 4-5 page detailed description of his/her work along with the registration form. We prefer submissions by email. The selected candidates will have to give 12-15-minute oral presentation of their work through multimedia/OHP. There can be multiple authors but opportunity for oral presentation shall be given to one student (preferably first author) only. The selection will be made on the basis of the originality and creativeness in the submitted presentation. Plagiarism is strictly not accepted. Lifting the material from web-sites and cut-paste method is not encouraged. Participants selected for oral presentation will have to provide the soft copy of their manuscript, as per template available on this page, at the time of Symposium, failing which no financial support shall be extended.

For poster presentation: Submit half-page write-up/summary, along with the registration form. Submissions by email are preferred. Selected entries shall be given display space of approximately 12 A4 sheets. The selected poster-presentation student shall submit the material presented in the poster in a manuscript form (4-5 pages), as per template available on this page, at the time of Symposium, failing which no financial support shall be extended.

We can only select finite number of participants for three categories (oral, poster, only participation) due to financial and logistic limitations. We wish to give opportunity to as many students, as possible, from various colleges/universities spread all over the country.

In order to give opportunity to students from all over India and due to logistic reasons at our end, maximum of 4 students (of all years of B.Sc. and M.Sc.) from one department / College / Institute shall be selected. Head of the Dept. / Principal are requested to make sure to recommend only Four applications in total.

Send the scanned copy of the filled-in registration form along with the detailed description of the oral presentation or half-page summary of the poster presentation via email to nssp@pu.ac.in by 15 October 2017. We shall send acknowledgement of receipt of your mail as soon as possible.

If there is any genuine problem in sending the form by email, please send it by post to Dr. C.N. Kumar, Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh-160014 so as to reach him by 15 October 2017.

Selected students will be informed by 25 October 2017 via email. They can pay the registration fee of Rs. 600 via online transfer to the IAPT account (A/c No. 10444977769, IFSC code SBIN0000742, MICR Code 160002009) and send the acceptance along with fee transfer details via email latest by 30 October 2017. If you wish to pay registration fee through DD (drawn in favour of "Indian Association of Physics Teachers", payable at Chandigarh), send your acceptance along with scanned copy of DD via email lates by 30 October 2017. Original DD by post can reach us late.

Students residing at faraway places may risk making advance train reservation arrangements, in anticipation of selection. Few shortlisted students may get intimation at short notice, if any selected student withdraws from participating in the Symposium.

The selected participants are expected to stay for the whole duration. The participation certificates shall be given only on the third day of the programme. We shall take care of local hospitality (boarding and lodging) for all the participants.
