Welcome to Chandigarh

Oral presentations shall be 12-15 minutes with another 2-3 minutes for question and answers. Bring your presentation on pen-drive. There will be poster sessions. In each poster session, there will be few posters. Space for each poster is A0 size single sheet or approximately 12-16 A4 size sheets.
Please remember that you have to submit the full paper / Manuscript during the symposium. Selected articles shall be published in Student Journal of Physics, International Edition. Schedule of the program, accommodation details shall be posted latest by 8th November.
Accommodation for participants has been arranged at National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Backside of Guru Gobind Singh College for Boys, Sector 26, Chandigarh. (Roughly 4 km from Railway station, 5 km from ISBT Sector 17) and at Panjab University Main Guest House, P.U. Golden Jubilee Guest House, Faculty House, ICSSR Guest House, Sector 14, Chandigarh from 9th November afternoon till 13th November, Morning. Lists of participation along with allocation shall be posted latest by 8th November.
Winter is setting in, so bring suitable clothes (Sweater / Jacket / Stole / Shawl etc..). Please bring along a Towel, Single Bed-Sheet and toiletries for your personal use.
Volunteers will be present to receive students at Railway Station; from 5.00 P.M. till 8.00 A.M. during the period 9rd Nov – 10th Nov. covering all major trains. Participants should exit through Platform No. 1 and look out for volunteers near the Main Enquiry Counter. On your train reaching Ambala (last station before Chandigarh, approx. 40 km), send an SMS. Names and mobile numbers are given below.
Participants reaching Chandigarh during 8.00 A.M. till 5.00 P.M. can take an auto /OLA/UBER and reach respective guest houses as mentioned in the list. Participants, who are reaching by bus, can take an auto /OLA/UBER and reach to the respective guest houses as mentioned in the list.
Participants, who are reaching Chandigarh, after 7.00 A.M. on 10th November, should reach directly at the Symposium venue i.e. Department of Physics, Panjab University, Chandigarh. They will be shifted to the respective accommodation by the organizers after the Inauguration.
Participants who plan to reach the NITTTR / PU guest house/s by themselves should contact the following volunteers on/before arrival. Look for pre-paid auto service. Otherwise, fix the price (bargain) before getting into auto. You can also use UBER, OLA services for CABS and Jugnu for Auto services. The fares will be much cheaper.

Updated List of selected/waitlisted participants
Please send your acceptance, remit the registration fee through online or DD, as per instructions already available on this page [Update 18 Oct 2017] . Please intimate the arrival and departure information ( date/time/mode(train name/ bus), as soon as possible. Please send word format abstract of your oral/poster presentation for NSSP Booklet compilation. Next update, if any, shall be posted after 3 November 2017.

List of selected/waitlisted participants
The selected students, should send your acceptance of participation (via email) and registration fee latest by 30.10.17, 5.00 P.M. If you are not able to participate, please inform us as soon as possible, so that the seat can be offered to wait list candidate, via email.
The registration fee of Rs. 600 via online transfer to the IAPT account (A/c No. 10444977769, IFSC code SBIN0000742, MICR Code 160002009). You can also pay registration fee through DD drawn in favor of "Indian Association of Physics Teachers", payable at Chandigarh. The transaction details / scanned copy of DD along with acceptance, should reach us (via email) latest by 30 October 2017. Original DD by post can reach us late.
Students from same college may make one single transaction / one single DD. Please mention the applicants details in the email. The selected Oral / Poster-presentation student shall submit the material presented in the oral/poster in a manuscript form (4-5 pages), as per template available at the website, at the time of Symposium, failing which no financial support shall be extended. In case of multiple authors, only first author is allowed for oral presentation. Oral presentations cannot be shared. There is no such restriction for poster presentation.
Accommodation arrangements for all participants shall be made at various guest houses/ hostels. Further details of the accommodation and instructions on how to reach the guest houses / hostels, contact no. of volunteers etc., shall be uploaded to website in due course.
Detailed Program schedule (invited talks/ oral presentations sessions/ poster sessions ), shall be uploaded to website in due course. Please send Arrival and departure information (date / mode of travel / expected arrival / departure) after making the bookings. If you are part of a group, one email containing the information shall do the purpose.
Please send abstract / half-page write-up/summary of your presentation, in doc format only, for bringing out booklet.
